What to Expect at Blast

It takes a dedicated player willing to be challenged both mentally and physically to get the most value from their athletic development. Here's what sets the Blast experience apart:

High-Possession Style of Play

We train and execute a possession-based system with clear metrics to measure progress. Every player is actively involved.

D.R.E.A.M. Development Philosophy

Discipline, Responsibility, Effort, and Attitude working together to Motivate today's soccer player — on and off the field.

Proven Possession Metrics

We use quantifiable possession metrics to help players connect with each other and to clearly track technical development progress.

Players and Layers

Tactically, we work with "players and layers" to help every athlete develop insightful understanding of positional responsibilities.

Three-Season Development Cycle

Coaches monitor player objectives across Fall, Winter, and Spring/Summer, providing regular opportunities to assess and reset development targets.

What age groups do you serve?
Our Blast Academy program serves ages 5-8. The Competitive program (Blast) serves ages 8-19 (birth years 2007-2019 for 2026-27).
My child plays recreational soccer. Is Blast right for us?
Yes — if your child is ready to be challenged and is serious about developing as a player. We welcome athletes from all backgrounds at tryouts. Our coaches evaluate potential, not just current skill level.
Do you have rec leagues or is it only competitive?
Our Blast Academy program (ages 5-8) is our entry-level offering and doesn't require tryouts. For ages 8+, our competitive teams are formed through the annual tryout process.
What's the time commitment?
Competitive players train multiple times per week year-round across three seasons (Fall, Winter, Spring/Summer), plus league matches and select tournaments. Players with other interests are expected to be 90% or better contributors when they are with the team.
Where do you train?
Blast operates at two locations: Blast North (north metro) and Blast South at the ARC Training Center in Eagan (1245 Trapp Road, Suite 150). See our Locations page for details.
How much does it cost?
See the Program Fees section above. Fees cover year-round coaching, training, gear, league entry, fitness programming, and cognition classes.
Can my child try out if they can only make one session?
Yes. While we recommend attending both sessions, we'll use whatever session(s) a player makes to complete their evaluation.
